This is an on-going project that I’m hoping to expand on.
I was very interested in fashion show catwalks and began researching outfits; looking at Lady Gaga and also fashion students work at the London College of Fashion. I took my favourites and the strangest and made them. I then got my model to wear them in Kings Lynn, Lincolnshire. I chose this location because it isn’t a highly populated town so these outfits stood out. I photographed the reactions to the outfits as people walked by to show how much these outfits do not fit into their surroundings. I began this series wanting to show how ridiculous the outfits are and how no one would ever wear them in any normal situation. However, by the end of shooting the three outfits, I began to approach the catwalk outfits differently, seeing them as a form of art.
